AMA International Collegiate Conference

The UNI chapter of the American Marketing Association is a professional organization in the College of Business Administration. The organization focuses on professional development and networking opportunities to give students the best possible experience in a student organization. Some of these opportunities are off campus, such as the American Marketing Association International Collegiate Conference in New Orleans each year. This is an astounding opportunity for members of AMA to hear from industry professionals, compete in marketing competitions against international competition and showcase our organization head to head with the top AMA chapters.

The conference will be held from April 11-13 this year. Last year, we were able to hear from Sheryl Adkins-Green, Chief Marketing Officer of Mary Kay, Mark French, entrepreneur and Co-Founder of MISSION Athletecare, and many other marketing professionals. This year, we will have all attending UNI AMA members compete in a competition of their choice. Some of the competitions include the AMA Sales Competition, Perfect Pitch Competition, SABRE Business Simulation, Marketing Strategy Competition, Chapter Exhibit Competition and many more. There are also awards at the conference for chapters that have shown great achievement in their endeavors throughout the academic year. Along with the keynote speakers and competitions, there are a variety of breakout sessions in which professionals discuss topics such as how to brand yourself, how to stay ahead in a competitive marketing industry and what students should be doing now in order to land a job in the future. Finally, the conference allows our chapter to hear from the presidents of other top chapters in the nation and how they have led their AMA chapters to success. Our executive team attended all of these sessions last year, and with the information we gathered from these chapters, we were able to take the UNI AMA chapter to unforeseen success and standards.
