CATS Conference

Connecting Alumni To Students (CATS) includes 66 UNI students from every college on campus. The majority of our members are involved in multiple student organizations and serve in a variety of leadership roles. We work together to enhance the University of Northern Iowa as a great place to live and learn by implementing programs that encourage interaction between students and alumni and through volunteering. We serve as UNI’s official traditions keepers and as a link between students, administration, and alumni.

Our executive board of five is planning to go to a student advancement conference called CASE ASAP in Columbus, Ohio on August 3-5.  At this conference, we have a chance to meet students from other universities across the United States and learn about the events and programs they put on within their student organizations. In addition, we also have the awesome opportunity to represent UNI at this conference by presenting about our student philanthropy program called Pennies at Work. Students attending our presentation are able to ask questions and learn about how they can implement this program at their own university! By networking with other student organizations around the United States we are able to gain and share ideas to advance our future programs.

In order to attend, we need your help to raise $3,000 to cover the cost of our registrations fees, hotel, and travel. We hope more than our executive board can attend the conference, and will send more members if funding is available. Your generosity can make the difference between a student attending the conference or staying home.

If you would like to help us attend our conference, donate today! We thank you and appreciate your contributions!

Choose a giving level

UNI's campanile is a very special landmark to CATS members. Every year members of our organization volunteer their time to hand out buttons on the Saturday of homecoming when the clock hits MIDNIGHT!

We serve as the official traditions keepers on campus! CATS members works to encourage all students to take part in the UNI Traditions Challenge and earn a lapel pin to wear at graduation!

This year 45 seniors on UNI's campus completed over 45 of the tradition challenges! All of these seniors received a medallion to wear after their graduation!
